  • I'm what you get when you mix together an engineer and geologist. Instead of building cars or drawing topographical maps - I was drawing light saber duels, dinosaurs and spaceship designs. When I was a little older I wanted to draw comic books. I came close (a few times) to sticking on with Image comics, but the comic industry took a downturn and opportunities started to close fast. I decided that I needed to add more skills to my bag of tricks and enrolled in the Visual Communications program at the Art Institute of Dallas. By the time I graduated I had 2 portfolios, one in design and another in illustration.

After graduation, I spent the next 4 years working at small agencies. I started at the bottom doing nothing but production, but in no time I was called on to do illustration, packaging, identity and branding. In late 2003 I decided to go out on my own, and I've been there ever since. Most of the work I do is still in the print design community, but every now and then I get to flex my muscles on illustration and web. In my free time, I like to stay active by playing basketball, surfing, snowboarding and more recently, Muay Thai workouts. I always feel like my best work is on the next project, and I'm ready for the challenges ahead of me.

My biggest influences (other than my Mom and Dad) have been: Star Wars, Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, James Cameron, Boris Vallejo, Mike Zeck, Frank Frazetta, Katsuhiro Otomo, Mark Silvestri, Doug Chiang, Michael Jordan, Travis Charest, Joe Johnston, Frank Darabont, and my friends.
